Shlomit Haliva – Director of Bet Shemesh Parent-Child Center
Shlomit ows a BA and a MA degree in clinical social work from the Hebrew University. Currently studying dynamic psychotherapy at the Hebrew University.
She has been working at Yad Rachel since 2006.In the past five years she was the director of Beit Shemesh Parent Child Center, since its was establishment. The Center treats 100 patients – parents and children, each week, offering individual treatments, parental training, dyadic treatments and treatment groups. Shlomit manages the center and the staff, guides the professional staff – social workers, expressive and creative therapists, undergraduate and graduate students and the housekeeper.
Prior to this, Shlomit spent six years managing the After School Centers at Yad Rachel in Jerusalem and was in charge of the supervision of the staff of social workers and students, the guidance of therapeutic counselors, the training courses and the therapeutic groups.
Prior to her work at Yad Rachel, Shlomit worked for 5 years in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit at Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital, and dealt with emotional therapy in pediatric oncology patients, the guidance of siblings and other family members. She worked as well as in the audiology clinic, treating hearing impaired children, and children and adults with stuttering for several years. Shlomit has volunteered for a number of years in the ICA’s “Telematica” in support of various applicants who cope with various difficulties related to cancer.
She has a private clinic in Jerusalem’s Arnona neighborhood, treats adults and adolescents with psychotherapy and trains parents.
Married to Avi, mother to Noam, Hadar, Tamir and Shira.
